Does this stupid thing work or do I need to go to Wordpress?

Testing that all is well.

Springtime

Well Folks, Spring is officially here and with it comes the new fabrics. I helped carry the bolts into the studio and always with a smile, I might add. There's no reason to have a grouchy face when lugging stuff around.

Oxford Dictionary, a day to give thanks.

Howdy Folks,
Did you know why Feb 1st is important? Because the first volume of the Oxford Dictionary was published, A to Ant in 1884. This is what I read at Wiki. I'm doing the cut and paste thing so you can follow the links and learn more. Winter is boring folks, a good time to learn new things.

"The dictionary began as a Philological Society project of a small group of intellectuals in London (and unconnected to Oxford University):[13]:103–4,112 Richard Chenevix Trench, Herbert Coleridge, and Frederick Furnivall, who were dissatisfied with the then-current English dictionaries. In June 1857, they formed an "Unregistered Words Committee" to search for words that were unlisted or poorly-defined in current dictionaries. In November, Trench's report was not a list of unregistered words; instead, it was the study On Some Deficiencies in our English Dictionaries, which identified seven distinct shortcomings in contemporary dictionaries:[14]
  • Incomplete coverage of obsolete words
  • Inconsistent coverage of families of related words
  • Incorrect dates for earliest use of words
  • History of obsolete senses of words often omitted
  • Inadequate distinction among synonyms
  • Insufficient use of good illustrative quotations
  • Space wasted on inappropriate or redundant content.
The Society ultimately realized that the number of unlisted words would be far more than the number of words in the English dictionaries of the 19th century, and shifted their idea from covering only words that were not already in English dictionaries to a larger project. Trench suggested that a new, truly comprehensive dictionary was needed. On 7 January 1858, the Society formally adopted the idea of a comprehensive new dictionary.[13]:107–8 Volunteer readers would be assigned particular books, copying passages illustrating word usage onto quotation slips. Later the same year, the Society agreed to the project in principle, with the title A New English Dictionary on Historical Principles (NED).[15]:ix–x"

You got to love those out of the box thinkers. It got us where we are.

Moving Up

Well Folks, I've been chosen to expand my role here. When I first came on board, I helped with marketing in our retail store and people loved me. I had a good time. I wasn't sure what role I would play on the internet but sales it is. I just have to learn about social media. I figure I know how to smile a big friendly smile, and I enjoy folks, what more could I need to know?

My first selfie.

The second was too blurry and my glasses got bumped.

This is better but would have been better outside but it was raining out. And I didn't have sparklers.

Not bad for a first time. Happy 4th Everyone!

Vermont Roads

Evening Folks,
It's been a long, long, time since I posted, and a long, long winter. I figure to share a few photographs from last fall that I never got to. Did you know that in Vermont, not all roads can be traveled all the time?  Some roads don't get plowed so unless you have a dog sled or good snow shoes, you just can't go there. Here's the sign you want to watch for when the snow starts falling.

I'll look around for a few other photos tomorrow.

Mens Aprons

More news Folks,
The new Aproned Man website was a bust. Something about a platform not working, blah, blah, blah. I don't get what they mean. The point is, folks, that the mens aprons are back on www.vermontapron.com. They have a mens page there for our aprons, although I took a look and its not loaded yet. The page is there, the aprons aren't yet. Frank said they get loaded tomorrow. I'll do my best to keep you updated, although I have to say that's getting a little tough lately.

Again

Hello Folks,
I am to announce that once again we have a new website. I'm not sure if this means we can't make up our minds, or if we can't stop moving on. Well no matter, take a look (again, please) they really did make it better this time.

Missed a Meeting

It's not very often I'm left speechless. I am. We now have the mens aprons in their own website. Apparently I missed a meeting somewhere along the way. How I missed that one, I don't know, maybe I was off drinking with Frank. No idea. Anyways, I better check it out. I'll report back. I'm told they called it The Aproned Man. I hope that isn't actually another guy on board here.

Final Touches

Hey Folks,
Apparently even when it's an Apron for a fashion show, there are final touches, something about hems, something about shoulder length... no idea.

I just hung out and offered to hold things.... again. It's a skill I'm getting good at.

Models and Me

Hey there Folks!
I have also found I have the added responsibility of entertaining models. Yeah, we're doing a fashion show and models came to be fitted and frankly hang out. I had so much fun we had our pictures taken.

We laughed a lot and I have to admit, my smile is contagious! But, after all, it's what I'm suppose to do.

Me, Wes, doing what I do best....
